What happens when cultures clash and blend?  How does music change? Discover the exciting world of Caribbean music at a free, family-friendly session offered by the Binghamton Philharmonic Orchestra! This special event, titled "Family Symphony Session: Fandango!", goes beyond the concert hall, offering a unique behind-the-scenes experience.

Here's what you and your kids can enjoy:

A backstage tour of the Forum Theatre: Get a glimpse of the inner workings of the theatre while the orchestra warms up for their rehearsal.

Interactive chat about Caribbean music and dance: How did European melodies and dances transform when they met the vibrant rhythms of Africa and the indigenous sounds of the Caribbean? Learn about the fascinating fusion of European, African, and Indigenous influences that shaped Caribbean music and try a traditional Spanish dance. 

Complimentary concert tickets: This event is your chance to introduce the family to the symphony orchestra. Adults attending the Family Symphony Session for the first time will receive free tickets to the Philharmonic's concert on Saturday, April 6th, featuring "Fandangos" by Puerto Rican composer Roberto Sierra. Bonus: Kids 17 and under get free admission to all Binghamton Philharmonic Forum Theatre concerts throughout the season!
