Description
Join us for Opening Night of the Binghamton Philharmonic's 2024-2025 Season!
Experience the restorative effects of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, also known as the Pastoral Symphony. In his symphony Beethoven, who often wrote about the deep peace he found in nature, depicts vivid scenes of rural life – birdsong, the rippling of a brook, and festivities in the countryside – that still resonate today, providing a soundtrack of the harmony between humanity and the natural world.
Also on the program are “Restless Oceans” by Anglo-American composer Anna Clyne and the Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, with the Philharmonic’s principal horn, Alex Shuhan, as soloist.
Anna Clyne: Restless Oceans
Richard Strauss: Horn Concerto No. 1
Alex Shuhan, French horn
Ludwig van Beethoven: Symphony No. 6, "Pastorale"
