Calling All Young Artists: Design the Official Earth Fest 2026 T-Shirt

See your design featured on event t-shirts and enjoy a Nirchi's Pizza Party!

By Kate Fletcher, Macaroni KID Binghamton Publisher March 31, 2026

Do you have a young artist at home who wants to make a difference? Earth Fest: Live at Recreation Park is looking for creative youth "changemakers" to design their official event T-shirt for 2026!

Whether your child is a doodler in elementary school or a graphic design student in college, this is their chance to see their artwork worn all over Binghamton—and maybe even score a pizza party in the process.

The Challenge: Art with an Impact

The goal is to create a design that inspires people to take action for our environment. Think nature, local wildlife, our planet, community vibes, or recycling!

The Golden Rule: Earth Fest wants to celebrate real human creativity. No AI-generated images will be accepted.

📝 Design Guidelines To make sure your design is ready for the screen-printer, follow these simple steps:

  • Keep it Simple: Use a standard piece of white printer paper (8.5" x 11").
  • Tools: Use black pen or pencil. The final designs will be printed as black-and-white linework.
  • Must-Have Text: You must include the words "Earthfest 2026" somewhere in your design.
  • Pick a Color: Tell them which shirt color you think looks best with your art! Options are Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, or Black.
  • Label It: On the back of the paper, write the artist's Name, Grade, and School (e.g., Smokey Bear, 5th Grade, MacArthur Elementary).

🏆 What’s in it for the Artists?

  • The Grand Prize: The winning design will be featured on the official volunteer T-shirts at Earth Fest on April 26th! Shirts will also be available for purchase by the public.
  • The Tasty Reward: The winner receives a Nirchi’s Pizza Voucher for a full-blown pizza party! 🍕
  • Sweet Swag: Every single student who enters will receive a complimentary sticker featuring runner-up designs.

🗓️ How to Submit

Don't wait—the deadline is fast approaching! All designs must be submitted by April 1st.

  1. Grade School Students: Turn your physical design into the teacher at your school who is handling submissions.
  2. College Students & Individuals: Scan your design and submit it via the Official Contest Form Here.

Save the Date for Earth Fest!

Even if you don't enter the contest, make sure to mark your calendars for a day of community fun:

  • When: Sunday, April 26th | 11am – 4pm
  • Where: Recreation Park, Binghamton, NY
