Get ready, Binghamton! The incredible LUMA Projection Arts Festival is back, and again this year, they're shining a spotlight on our community's youngest artists. Kids aged 12 and under have an amazing opportunity to see their very own masterpieces transformed into stunning light projections, displayed on buildings throughout Downtown Binghamton during the 2025 LUMA Festival, happening on September 5th and 6th!
Imagine walking through downtown during LUMA and seeing your child's drawing, painting, or collage come to life in a dazzling light show. The kids' portion will be presented on both nights of the festival between 8:30-9PM.
How Your Child Can Participate:
1. Join the Free Workshop at The Discovery Center:
Spark your child's creativity by attending a special Living Lights Youth Workshop at The Discovery Center on August 7th from 10am to 12pm. All the art supplies your child needs to design their masterpiece will be provided, making it easy to jump right in.
- When: August 7th, 10am-12pm
- Where: The Discovery Center, 60 Morgan Rd., Binghamton, NY
- Cost: Free with museum admission ($10 per person, free for members)

2. Create Your Masterpiece at Home:
Prefer to create from the comfort of your own home? No problem! You can pick up a Living Lights Project mural template at The Garland Gallery. Let your child's imagination run wild using any medium they choose – crayons, paint, markers, collage, anything goes!
Important Deadlines & Details:
To be considered for the LUMA Festival, all artwork must be returned by August 15, 2025.
