Get ready to lace up your skates and hit the ice at DICK's House of Sport, located in Oakdale Commons in Johnson City! The outdoor ice rink is back for its second season, and it's bigger and better than before. Measuring 72 feet wide (increased from 60 feet last season) by 100 feet long, the rink provides ample space for skaters of all ages and skill levels to glide, twirl, and practice their hockey skills.
Grand Opening and Holiday Celebration
The rink officially opens to the public on Saturday, November 16, 2024. Before that, join the fun on Friday, November 15th for the 2nd Annual Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration from 5-9pm. Light up the night with a stunning 32-foot holiday tree lighting at 7pm. Enjoy a festive atmosphere with Letters to Santa, cookie decorating, a photo booth, and a build-your-own hot cocoa bar. Admission is just $10 per person, and includes access to the ice rink, skate rental, and holiday market activities.
Open Skate
Beginning November 16, open skate hours will be 4-8pm Thursday-Friday, 12-6pm Saturday, and 12-5pm Sunday. The cost is $12 for adults and $10 for children under 12. Skates in all sizes are available to rent for $6.
Season Passes are available for the ultimate ice skating experience. These passes provide free entry during Open Skate hours from November 16 to March 2, 2024. Individual passes are $50, or $75 with skate rental included. Family passes (up to six people) are $100, or $150 with skate rental included.
Learn to Skate Program
Starting December 4th, weekly lessons will be offered for $10 to anyone who wants to learn the ins and outs of balancing on the ice. Join the Learn to Skate program on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30pm.This program is perfect for beginners and those looking to improve their skating skills.
Open Ice Hockey
Beginning December 4th, the rink is open every Wednesday from 3:30-5pm for players to practice their hockey skills with friends at any skill level. This session is ideal for players who want to work on their stickhandling, shooting, or just have fun with buddies.
Birthday Parties and Private Rentals
Celebrate your special day on the ice! You can book the rink for a birthday party on weekends starting November 23rd. For groups and teams, private rink rentals are also available.
