O' Tannenbaum: A Holiday Tradition in Owego Open Thru December 14

Visit Santa Claus and enjoy musical entertainment at O Tannenbaum on Saturdays Nov. 16 thru Dec. 14

O Tannenbaum, the Tioga County Historical Society's Annual Holiday Display and Auction, is back for its 22nd year! This festive event takes place from November 5 to December 14, 2024, at the museum located at 110 Front St in Owego, New York.

Visitors can enjoy a spectacular display of holiday trees, wreaths, and other items donated by the community. All of the items are on display throughout the museum as part of a silent auction.

Santa Claus Visits

Beginning November 16, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting the museum on Saturdays from 12pm to 2pm. Children can have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and tell them their Christmas wishes.

Musical Entertainment

O Tannenbaum also features musical entertainment on Saturdays. The lineup for this year's entertainment is as follows:

  • Friday, November 8, 2024 - Grand Opening from 6-8pm with Chloe Solan, piano and drink and food provided by the Cellar Restaurant
  • Saturday, November 9, 2024 - Rick Pedro, piano 12-2pm and Meredith Bocek, harp 2-3:30pm
  • Saturday, November 16, 2024 - Roger Westgate presents a Christmas woodcarving demonstration 10-11:30am, Andy Jaye, piano 12-2pm
  • Saturday, November 23, 2024 - Marv Williams, guitar 10am-12pm, Nino, guitar 12-2pm
  • Saturday, November 30, 2024 - Jennifer Cutter, recorder/flute 10:00-11:30, Dove family musicians 12-2pm
  • Saturday, December 7, 2024 - Bassoon Monsoon, 10-11:30am, Vanessa LaDue, piano 12-2pm
  • Saturday, December 14, 2024 - Owego Free Academy Chorus, 12-2pm

Closing Reception

The culmination of the O Tannenbaum silent auction takes place 6-7pm on December 14, 2024 with raffle drawings and a closing reception. All proceeds from the silent auction benefit the Tioga County Historical Society. 

O Tannenbaum is a great way to get into the holiday spirit and support the Tioga County Historical Society, a non-profit organization that preserves and promotes the history of Tioga County. The museum is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm with extended hours on December 6 (10am-8:30pm) and December 14 (10am-7pm).
