Broome County Parks Scarecrow Contest Entries Due September 25

Participants must set up their entries at Otsiningo Park between Sept. 28 - Sept. 30

Calling all creative minds and families! The 9th Annual Broome County Parks Scarecrow Contest is back, bringing some friendly competition and spooky cheer to Otsiningo Park from October 1-23, 2024.

Show Off Your Scarecrow Skills

This free contest is open to everyone! Individuals, families, businesses, schools, clubs, and organizations are all welcome to participate. Design and build your own amazing scarecrow masterpiece for a chance to win fantastic prizes.

Important Dates and Details:

  • Entry deadline: September 25th
  • Drop-off window: September 28th - 30th at Otsiningo Park (They'll provide a 5-ft post, you bring the scarecrow and securing materials)
  • Voting period: October 1st - 23rd
  • Winner announcement: October 25th 
  • Scarecrow removal: October 24th - 29th

Keep it Spooky, But Family-Friendly:

Let your imagination run wild, but remember, this is a family-friendly event. No gruesome or offensive displays will be permitted.
