Waterman Explore Camp for children ages 6-11 runs August 12-16

Calling all budding naturalists! This summer, Waterman Conservation Center is offering its exciting Waterman Explore Camp for children ages 6-11. Running from August 12th to 16th, this week-long program is a perfect opportunity for your child to connect with nature, learn new skills, and make unforgettable memories.

Tailored Adventures for Every Age

Waterman Explore Camp understands that different age groups have different interests and abilities. That's why they've designed age-specific programming for:

  • Blue Birds (ages 6-7): These young explorers will embark on exciting adventures perfect for their developing curiosity.
  • Green Frogs (ages 8-9): Get ready for more in-depth exploration! Green Frogs will delve deeper into the natural world through engaging activities.
  • Black Bears (ages 10-11): Black Bears will put their knowledge and skills to the test with exciting nature challenges.

A Week of Outdoor Fun

Waterman Explore Camp takes place primarily outdoors, allowing campers to experience the wonders of nature firsthand. Be sure to pack appropriate closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, insect repellent, and clothing suitable for various weather conditions. Don't forget a water bottle, snacks, and a lunch each day to keep your little adventurer fueled for fun!

Enhancing the Experience (Optional Items):

While not required, some additional items can enhance your child's camp experience:

  • Sketch pad / notebook: Perfect for capturing memories and scientific observations!
  • Journal: Encourage your child to document their discoveries and personal reflections.
  • Water shoes: For exploring streams or other water features.
  • Magnifying glass & binoculars: Help your child get a closer look at the fascinating details of the natural world.

Important Information:

  • Registration: Tuition is $200 per week and includes a Waterman EXPLORE t-shirt. Full payment is required with registration materials.
  • Schedule: Camp runs from 9am to 3pm daily. Early drop-off (8:30am) and late pick-up (4pm) are available for an additional fee: $25 for early drop-off, $50 for late pick-up, or a combined rate of $60 per week.
