These no-cost markets offer a variety of fresh fruits and veggies for children in the Southern Tier

Looking for fun ways to get your kids excited about fresh fruits and veggies? Check out the amazing Kids' Farmers Markets (KFM) happening in Broome, Chemung, Steuben, Tioga, and Tompkins Counties this summer!

These free markets are a fantastic initiative by the Food Bank of the Southern Tier, designed to introduce children to the colorful world of healthy eating. Here's why you should check them out:

Fresh Produce Fun: Kids get to pick out their own fruits and veggies, making them more invested in trying new things.

Building Healthy Habits: Early exposure to fresh produce lays the foundation for a lifetime of healthy eating habits.

Learning Through Play: KFM incorporates fun activities like taste tests and recipes, making learning about healthy food enjoyable.

Confidence Boost: Choosing their own produce gives youngsters a sense of accomplishment and encourages them to try unfamiliar foods.

Here's where you can find Kids' Farmers Markets in Broome and Tioga County:

Berkshire Free Library 12519 NY-38, Berkshire, NY 13736 (KFM located at the Berkshire Community Hall behind the library)

1-3pm on Wednesdays from July 17th to September 4th

Spencer-Van Etten Middle School 1 Center St, Spencer, NY 14883 (KFM located at the gym entrance)

11:30am-2pm on Tuesdays from July 16th to August 20th

Family Enrichment Network 24 Cherry St, Johnson City, NY 13790 (KFM located in the basement cafeteria)

8am-12:30pm Monday through Friday, July 17th through August 23rd
