Summer Readers' Club:
Calling all young readers! Join the Summer Readers' Club and turn your summer into a delicious adventure. Sign up anytime between Saturday, June 22, and Monday, July 8. Pledge to read each week, and once you complete five out of seven weeks, you'll be rewarded with a sweet treat!
- Kids: Earn a free McDonald's Happy Meal for your dedication to reading.
- Teens: Cool off with a free ice cream from Big Dipper after a summer of literary exploration.
Don't forget, there are regular story times for young children on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am. (No story time June 25-July4, and August 27-September 5.)
And, there's an Adult Reading Challenge too! Visit the library to sign up.
Free Art Classes for Kids:
The Tioga Arts Council brings the magic of art to Apalachin Library! Unleash your child's creativity with these three FREE art classes for kids aged 8-12:
- July 23: Clay Animal Plaques - Mold your imagination into clay creatures!
- July 30: Lush Landscapes Painting - Capture the beauty of nature on canvas.
- August 6: Fabulous Horses Collage - Create a collage masterpiece featuring majestic horses.
Space is limited, so register for each class separately by calling the library 607-625-3333 or stopping by in person.
Family Nights - July Extravaganza!
Mark your calendars for three exciting Family Nights at Apalachin Library this July, all starting at 7pm:
- July 11: Dirtmeister- Get ready for messy science fun and exciting experiments!
- July 18: Dinosaur Adventure Show - Become a paleontologist and dig up a real Triceratops dinosaur bone!
- July 25: REPCO Wildlife Encounters - Meet amazing animals and learn about their fascinating world.
American Girl Programs:
History comes alive with two special American Girl programs for children aged 8 and older (registration required):
- July 27: American Girl Doll Salon School - Join Miss Emma and learn how to Dutch braid!
- July 29: American Girl Doll Program - Meet Lila, this year’s American Girl Doll!
