Did someone say "new exhibit"? Macaroni KID Binghamton is here to tell you all about the exciting addition that just roared into The Discovery Center on Friday, April 19th! The beloved "Widgets and Gadgets" exhibit has gotten a major overhaul, transforming into the hands-on haven of your little gearhead's dreams: The Matthews Auto Service Center!
My two-year-old may have been a little confused by the lack of a gas tank on the realistic model car, but that didn't stop him from having a blast! At the Matthews Auto Service Center, kids can:
- Peek under the hood to check the fluids, change the oil filter, and test the battery
- Change a tire with child-sized tools
- Top up the reservoirs with washer fluid and coolant (don't worry, it's pretend!)
- Slide under the car to fix the muffler (it's hook and loop, so no greasy hands here!)
Access to this awesome new exhibit is included with your regular Discovery Center admission.
Here's the scoop on visiting:
- Museum Hours:
- Monday-Friday: 10am-3pm
- Saturday: 10am-5pm
- Sunday: 12-5pm
- First & Third Friday Free Admission Nights: 4-7pm
- Admission: $10 per person (Free for members and children under 1)
Buckle up your kiddos and get ready for a fun-filled adventure at The Discovery Center's brand new Matthews Auto Service Center!
And don't forget, with spring finally here, The Story Garden at The Discovery Center is also open for the season! Let your little ones climb into a police car, putt-putt on the mini golf course, or pretend to drive in the Little Blue Truck. There's a whole world of imagination waiting to be explored! The Story Garden is free and open daily from dawn to dusk.
