O Tannenbaum, the Tioga County Historical Society's Annual Holiday Display and Auction, is back for its 21st year! This festive event takes place from November 4 to December 16, 2023, at the museum  located at 110 Front St in Owego, New York.

Visitors can enjoy a spectacular display of holiday trees, wreaths, and other items donated by the community. All of the items are on display throughout the museum as part of a silent auction.

Santa Claus Visits

Beginning November 18, Santa and Mrs. Claus will be visiting the museum on Saturdays from 12pm to 2pm. Children can have their photo taken with Santa and Mrs. Claus, and tell them their Christmas wishes.

Musical Entertainment

O Tannenbaum also features musical entertainment on Saturdays from 12pm to 2pm. The lineup for this year's entertainment is as follows:

  • November 11: Music by Rick Pedro
  • November 18: Music by Nino Samiani
  • November 25: Music by The Dove Family
  • December 2: Music by Andy Jaye
  • December 9: Music by Vanessa LaDue
  • December 16: Music by OFA Chorus

Letters to Santa

This year, O Tannenbaum will once again feature Santa's magical mailbox! Kids are invited to write their letters to Santa and drop them in the mailbox. Santa's elves will collect the letters and send them to the North Pole. Please be sure to help your little ones write their address correctly so they can get a letter back from Santa.

Closing Reception

The culmination of the O Tannenbaum silent auction, will take place 6-7pm on December 16, 2023 with raffle drawings and a closing reception. All proceeds from the silent auction benefit the Tioga County Historical Society.

O Tannenbaum is a great way to get into the holiday spirit and support the Tioga County Historical Society, a non-profit organization that preserves and promotes the history of Tioga County. The museum is open to the public Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm with extended hours on December 1 (10am-8pm) and December 16 (10am-7pm).
