Children are Invited to be Eager Entrepreneurs for a Day

Kids can set up booths at this year's Port Dickinson Pumpkin FestiFall!

Do you know a kid who would enjoy a next-level lemonade stand experience? The organizers of this year's Port Dickinson Pumpkin FestiFall are giving children a unique opportunity to learn what it’s like to have a business for a day through its new "Eager Entrepreneurs" participant category. For $25, kids are invited to set up a booth and promote their goods, services, or cause from 10am-4pm on September 23, 2023 at Port Dickinson Community Park in Binghamton, NY.

Whether they're interested in selling bracelets or babysitting services, kids can promote their offerings to the community and accept donations. Attendees can donate as they wish, but any signage referencing “suggested donations” must be within the $1-$5 range to make it a fair and fun experience for all participating entrepreneurs.

Since most children will not have a Sales Tax Certificate of Authority, the event organizers consulted with the NYS Sales Tax office to determine a way to legally let kids raise funds for their cause. Participating Eager Entrepreneurs will be operating under a “take what you like and we accept donations” type of transaction.

Eager Entrepreneurs should apply to participate by September 20, 2023. For more information, download the FestiFall Participant Application Form or view the online form.
